Do you know the way to San Jose?

This is the best time of the year. I love it. Obviously everyone reading this knows that Easter was this past Sunday. Easter equals a lot of wonderful things. But one of them is a day off from work. Christi and I decided that we would take a little trip. So after a tough week of being sick AND hurting my back it was so nice to head out to my favorite place... My parents house in San Jose. Our friend Jodi had come to OC for her spring break so she hopped in the car with us and we picked our friend Julie up from the airport on our way headed up north.

Christi gave me and early birthday present...

a travel pillow to support my head and neck since by back was still hurting.

Jodi was so excited to start driving at 9:00 PM...
Since we started so late we were still driving at two in the morning.

The next day was a relaxing day in the sun. We woke up late and all choose our various forms of exercise. Then we meet up again and went in the hot tub and tried to lay out (but it was kind of cold). That night was Christi's friends wedding so we got in our Sunday best and heading to downtown San Jose.

The reception was nice but it was cold... Or was it scary?? I can't tell by the picture. :)

The desserts looked AMAZING but upon trying one of each I found out that not many of them were that tasty. However they did have one of the most amazing treats ever. Chocolate covered cookie dough. The cookie dough was kind of weird inside but what a great idea right?

So Christi wanted to hang out with her friends a little longer but we didn't know anyone and were freezing so we decided to go and sit in the car. This might sound boring to some of you but that's because you have never sat in a car with us before. We decided to play a game with the camera. The game is that you tell a person a scenario and they have one second to show us your emotion and then we take a picture. We took some really funny pictures... I put the most mild ones on here in respect to those in the pictures...
This is Julie after she was told that she was in a car accident...
This is Jodi after she found out that she won the lotto.

After the wedding we decided to stay in Downtown San Jose and explore. I showed my friends the famous statue in the middle of downtown... Can you figure out what it is?

After that we met up with some friends and went dancing. This was my first time go dancing in San Jose (besides the infamous church dances of course) and let me tell you it was a very funny experience. Highlight... when this old man came up (drug off his you know what) and tried to dance with us he totally fell down... then when he tried to get up he fell again! It was classic.

The next morning we woke up late again and it was a lot warmer. So we went out to enjoy the sunshine by going on a walk on my parents property. It has been a long time since I had done it... and due to the sickness and the back pain it had been awhile since I had been physically active... So I was loving it.
The rest of the day we spent lounging around at the pool. We had Easter dinner on Saturday since we were going to be leaving early on Sunday morning.
That night we watched a movie an made treats... We made our very own chocolate covered cookie dough and it was INCREDIBLE. It is one of my new favorite treats for sure.
Sunday morning we hit a early Sacrament meeting and then Christi and I dropped Julie and Jodi off at the airport and headed back down south. Our only stop was to get out sunday feast which consisted of a crunch wrap supreme for Christi and a grilled chicken sandwich and of course and ice cream cone from McDonald's for me.

This is some of Jodi's thoughts on the trip...

This trip went by way too fast. I probably could have stayed in San Jose 5 more days and been totally fine with it. I love these girls and it had been so long since we all hung out! It also reminded me how much I love to go and travel... Its going to be a fun summer... I am ready for lots more adventures!
