Happiness is...

Saturdays spent surfing so long your bronzed skin turns tomato like in all the wrong places but you are okay with it.

Saturday nights spent laughing with girlfriends about things that probably aren't funny at all but at the time you think are hilarious.

Foggy early sunday morning bike rides.

Sigh of happiness.

and that I wanted to make one of these?
well I did it. and I love it.
Don't you?
this is just the beginning. lots of new and fun projects to come!

yes please

I hate going to the movies. I think its a waste of time and money.
Especially after seeing this last weekend.
BUT
I can't wait for these three movies.

Happy Fall!

Today Autumn Officially Begins

although we are exempt from the crisp autumn air here in southern california. people across the western hemisphere are closing there windows, getting their sweaters out, and collecting the firewood. so here's to you fall. bring on the cardigans, boots, and warm apple cider.
Yesterday, following a lovely session of Stake Conference I spent the day Fall Cleaning
(you know like spring cleaning except its fall)

There is something so refreshing about cleaning, organizing, and de-junking your living space. Now that I have more space in my room to move around I am getting ready to start some fun projects... Starting with this one.

I love the feeling of losing yourself in the world of a good book. I have absolutely loved the last two books that I have picked up. The first one was Dibs in Search of Self.
And currently I am reading Three Miss Margarets.
More often than not I fall asleep with the the light on and the book in my lap and I couldn't be happier about it.

After cleaning my room yesterday I dusted off my trusty Key-Board and decided to spend a few minutes tickling the ivories (or whatever keyboards are made out of).
I can't wait to someday have a house with a real piano to call my own.

And in that house I want to have a room that has stripes painted on the wall. If it was today I would choose gray strips just like these.
Gray is my current obsession.
I can't enough of it.

And this statement couldn't be more true.

Today

I have the sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, so you can't rest cold.
Don't know where I got it... but it can go back to where ever it came from.
Cause its not welcomed here.

Kelly part 2

Remember when I went to the Kelly Clarkson concert at the fair?
Well if you don't remember... I went and I was LOVED it.
So when I heard that she was putting on a free concert in LA I was all over it. Me, Morgan, Jessica, and Adrienne headed to LA waited in a line for a long time, danced to some tunes, listened to some lame band, until finally she came on.
And she was AMAZING.

As of late.

Fun.
I have been loving this song.

Disneyland.
This past weekend we did the usual default activity of going to disneyland on a friday night when nothing else is going on. But when we found out space mountain was closed we decided to do a different version of disneyland and do the things that we don't normally do.
We watched Fantasmic. which is so good by the way. and the fireworks. And rode the rides we never ride like star tours, teacups, and peter pan. It was a blast.

Legally Blonde.
OMG you guys! Jess and I saw Legally Blonde at the Pantages. It was very cute and highly entertaining. (despite the lead singers super annoying nasally voice)

Julie came to town.
And when Julie comes to town I get to play. This trip we tried something new. Stand-Up-Paddle Boarding. It was so fun!

We spent the rest of the time riding bikes, swimming, laying out, eating great food, playing games, attending pool parties, going to the temple, and just hanging out.

80's night at oceans.
-It had been a long time since the mormons had gotten down at oceans ave in laguna beach for some good ole fashion 80's dancing. As the summer was coming to an end we decided we should sweat to some of the greatest "oldies."

Oh it felt good to be back.

I need your help

So I have this friend Jessica.
She is a bit younger than the rest of us.
We'll just go ahead and call her our Kid-Sister.
We forget how much younger she is than us until we start talking about pop-culture type stuff.

When I realized she had never heard of Fraggle Rock the true generation gap was becoming more apparent.
(okay... so i might be exaggerating... she's only 4 years younger but still).

But it wasn't until friday night when we were at disneyland (more pictures to come), dancing around to an 80's tribute band that it dawned on me...
"jess doesn't know any of these songs."

There Morgan and I were belting our lungs out about being wanted dead or alive... Jess was just looking at us like "how do you know all these songs."

So that brings to me the reason i am blogging about this. I am making my kid-sister a 80's music crash course CD. And I love pretty much every song written in the 80's I need some helping decided which ones she NEEDS to know. So leave a comment... yes I am being serious about leaving a comment... of the songs from the 80's that you think everyone should know.

I'll start:

Waste of 128 minutes

So... I've had this clearplay dvd player for a while now and I have been waiting to put it to use. I finally have been able to start all the r-rated movie viewing that I have felt that I have missed out on in the past few years.

Tonight I was watched this one:

And I would like to vote this movie....
WORST MOVIE EVER
That is all.

Running through my head

-I can't believe that I am going to say this but I am actually excited for summer to be over. I am ready for a change. I am ready for the weather to cool down, to be able to wear sweaters and scarves, to be able to run in the morning and not sweat like a 300 pound man, to eat soup and drink hot cocoa, and most of all to wear the new and fabulous grey boots that I just got. I am obsessed with them and can't wait to wear them!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-I started school last week and I think I am actually going to enjoy this semester.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Thursdays are my last semesters Tuesdays... meaning they are my long-long days... the only problem is I don't have 80's dancing to look forward to after class. I guess I will just have to settle for a good-drama filled episode of project runway. (which I love)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Speaking of TV... all the good shows are finally coming back! here is my schedule for exciting premieres...

Already in session=Project Runway & America's Best Dance Crew
September 9=SYTYCD
September 17= The office
September 24= Grey's Anatomy

And last... but most important the biggest loser starts on September 15th. Watch this clip and tell me you don't feel the spirit.

This is the greatest show on TV... hands down.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-I am just now learning to use google reader... and its awesome. I can't believe I didn't use it sooner. Its transformed my life.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-I think that everyday should start with a watermelon shake.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-I would vote Pandora the best thing to happen to the internet. I wish that I could have a pandora radio station in my car. Currently it would be playing a mixture of Owl City, the Cure, and the Format.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Julie is in town. I like when she is in town cause I get to drag her around to do all the things that I've wanted to do. We do marathon days of activity. I like to call them Jessie Sorenson (now Kerr) days.... reminds me of the good ole Laie days. Sigh....
