Chang Mai

Upon arrival we booked ourselves a spa treatment day.  It was AMAZING.

Each night we hit the night market to try to get the best deal on souvenirs and such.

Sunday we rented scooters and roamed the city.  We rode all over the place looking for the church.  No one had heard of the Mormons... Hmmm maybe the missionaries need to get out more?

But we eventually found it and I was never so happy to see this sign!

Taking a cooking class...
Getting massages at a womens prison...

 riding elephants...

Riding our scooters around town...

and of course, checking out more temples!

One Night in Bangkok

We left on a red eye flight at 1 AM on April1 st. We flew through Taiwan to get to Thailand.  Now I can say I have been to Taiwan too.

The flight from Taiwan to Thailand was extremely turbulent and my tummy did not like it at all. So when I got the only thing I wanted was a sprite... and i found one.

Our first night in Bangkok I still felt so sick that I all I could eat were french fries.

This is called a Tuk-Tuk. This is an alternative to a taxi.

Here are some of the slights of Bangkok:
Grand Palace

it was so hot that day that even our tour guide was prepared...

After the grand palace we hit the town.

Starting out with a boat ride along the canals of Bangkok.

Trying to find our way around this crazy city...

We took Mediation lessons at a temple from this cute man...

Wat Po (another famous temple)  here we got massages at a massage school that was at the temple.  And hour massage=$4.50.

Birthday Night

After a day at the magical I had a fabulous dinner with some of my girlfriends followed by a fabulous dessert party. (Pictures are scarce since I didn't... and still don't... have my camera)

Magical Day

I know I am playing catch up but here are some more pictures from my birthday.  I spent that morning with some of my favorite people at this magical place.

Google...

So... I was sitting at my desk waiting for a meeting to start and I wanted to kill some time. So I thought to myself... I wonder if anything would come up if I googled myself. (Come on... admit it. You have all had the same thought) So I did. There were some things that were obvious like my facebook page, my sisters swim school website where I used to teach, and races that I have done. Then I came across this...
Look at the section that says Boot Camp. Then read. I had no idea I was in the new era. Here it is 13 years later... So... you should all google yourselves. Who knows what you will find.

Birthday Eve

I know these are super late... But I still wanted to share some pictures from my birthday.  I have still yet to find my camera (although I am not giving up hope)  but luckily Adrienne took some pictures for me that night.  The night before my 26th birthday we celebrated by doing one of my top 5 activities.  80's dancing...

Musical hair

My mom always teases me that she never knows what color my hair is going to be when she sees me.  I always thought she was exaggerating... then I reviewed the pictures from the last year.  First and last pictures are from my birthdays the past two years...

I am currently rocking slightly purple hair... (it was a choice made on a whim in thailand. don't ask)

so while some people play musical chairs... (I love this commercial)

So... while some people play musical chairs (i love this commercial) I play musical hair....

Ta-Hoe

the weekend before I turned the big 2-6 i took a little trip up to lake tahoe to do one last snowboard session for the season.  it was seriously a dream vacation.  the snow was amazing, the hot tub was excellent, julies mom's cooking was divine, and i maintained my title as puzzle master.

This is a little what my jet lag feels like:

I really hope this isn't going to be forever. Is it real life?

Jet Lag

I have never really experienced it before.... until now.  I have had such a hard time adjusting.  Its currently 3:20 and I am plugging away at who knows what cause my body can't figure out where and when it is.  I thought people were making this stuff up.  Nope its the real deal-and it sucks bad.
BUT... My trip was amazing and worth every minute I spend laying sleeplessly in bed and sleepfully in class.  Pictures and such to come...
