Speaking of Triathlons..

I did and Olympic one in March.
Didn't train for it.
Got 3rd in my division.
NBD

(Okay... so in reality my time was not good what-so-ever. Everyone else must have just been slow too. Really... I'm not just saying that)

These two girls are the ones that convinced me to do it. Love them to pieces.

Oh and did I mention the woman behind all my racing desires.
Jessie Kerr.
Mother of 3.
Multi-Marathon runner.
This girl is amazing.
She is the person that got me into running in the first place.
It all started with the Great Aloha Run.
Anyway... she was there. She did the 1/2 Ironman. She is incredible.
Oh and did I mention... 1st in her division.
I want to be just like her when I grow up.

(Ignore the fact that I look beat... I was tired. It was a really hard race. And I was starving)

::Adventures in Babysitting::

Last weekend I decided to have a Aunts weekend with my two favorite 4 year olds. They arrived Friday evening and we played hard all the way to Monday morning.

We spent the weekend:
petting sharks,
discovering at the children's museum,
watching a world renowned bubble artist,
consuming pizza with a big mouse,
playing with cousins,
coloring,
hula-hooping,
going to church,
eating hello kitty waffles,
walking to the park,
and watching a movie or two.

you know....
I had so much fun with these two that I think I want some of my own someday.
But until then I am going to continue on with my mission to become the favorite aunt of all 6 1/2 of my siblings offspring.

27 red balloons go by

This year I turned 27.
Its true. 27 years ago I graced the earth with my presence.
And this year I had a blast celebrating that blessed day.

I made a list of 27 things I wanted to do that day. One of the things was let 27 balloons go and make a wish with each one (in lieu of blowing out the traditional candles). So when I woke up my wonderful roommate and friends had 27 red balloons waiting for me.

So Jess and I took those 27 balloons, smashed them into her VW bug, and headed out to LA.

In LA we went straight to a driving range where I hit 27 golf balls.

I guess LA knew it was my birthday because everywhere I went we ran into this sign:

(Clearly it is not for me... but for the wonderful TV phenomenon Glee... which is finally returning to the little screen tonight!)

Following the driving range we went to the Museum of Tolerance. No Camera's allowed.

From there we head to Santa Monica and took our Holga/Diana cameras and took pictures of everything and anything.

Through out the day I let balloons go in various locations.
By the end of the day we were so sick of those balloons attacking us in the car that we found a park to let the rest of them go. But before I got the chance to I saw this smiling face and couldn't resist and decided to spread some of the birthday cheer to some of the kids in the park.
This may have been one of my favorite points of the day.

After the park, we hit the 5 freeway all the way to Anaheim where we met up with these people at the wonderful land of disney.

(Yes I am wearing a fanny pack. If you don't like it you can shove it. But you don't like it... you LOVE it.)

Where this lovely lady:(Please notice Dusty Monroe in the background. Love that pose)

surprised me with reservations at the Blue Bayou! I have always wanted to eat there and I was SO excited to do so.

After scarfing down some creme brulee
(my first creme brulee mind you... I've always thought of myself as more of a jello kind of girl.)
The girls brought out the goods for the rest of the night.
Including whistles, glowsticks (of course), and these awesome glasses:

We watched Captian Eo which I have been dying to see. And I loved it.
"See you later trash can"

Rode some fun rides. And just had a blast.

It was such a fun day! I think I'll do it again next year.

Can't wait

Go ahead and judge me.

It won't phase me a bit.

I would judge me if I wasn't me.

But I CAN NOT wait for this:

February Adventures

February was a very busy month for me. It was also full of fun and crazy adventures. I started the month off with a trip down to TJ in order to get watch a good friend of mine (from work) get married. Although I didn't understand any of the ceremony (it was all in espanol) I definitely understood the language of dance that followed the wedding!

Later in the month I headed up to AZ to celebrate the birth of my bestie Julie Rose Hancock. Morgan joined me for the weekend.
We randomly
(if you really want the story and I will tell you)
ended up running a ragnar race that weekend.
With who you might ask?
Oh just 9 firemen.
Don't worry about that.

Both weekends were fun, crazy adventures that I will never forget.
Both favorites.
